About the Opportunity

St’át’imc Government Services (SGS) is seeking an experienced and motivated Environment Project Coordinator – Terrestrial, Forestry & Wildlife to join our Environment Department.

This role is responsible for coordinating environmental programs, leading field initiatives, and co-managing project delivery alongside another Project Coordinator. The position focuses on terrestrial ecosystems, forestry, and wildlife monitoring, while supporting broader environmental programs across SGS.

The successful candidate will play a key role in integrating St’át’imc cultural values and Indigenous knowledge into environmental planning and stewardship.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Project Leadership & Coordination

• Co-lead delivery of environmental field programs and technical projects
• Coordinate staff tasks, schedules, and deliverables
• Provide direction, coaching, and feedback to team members
• Support staff performance reviews in collaboration with leadership

Technical Advisory & Program Participation

• Participate in BC Hydro-related projects and working groups
• Review Environmental Management Plans for alignment with St’át’imc priorities
• Provide technical advice on environmental initiatives and planning processes

Environmental Program Delivery

• Conduct field assessments (terrestrial, wildlife, forestry, fisheries, and aquatic)
• Coordinate fieldwork including forest health, silviculture, and wildlife monitoring
• Support species-at-risk, land-use, and water monitoring programs
• Develop data management systems and protocols

Community Engagement & Indigenous Knowledge

• Engage with St’át’imc communities to incorporate local knowledge
• Represent SGS at meetings and stakeholder engagements
• Deliver educational sessions, workshops, and community outreach

Project & Grant Management

• Lead grant applications, reporting, and tracking
• Manage budgets, timelines, and project resources
• Maintain project documentation and performance metrics

Reporting & Administration

• Prepare reports, work plans, and technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with legislation and safety protocols
• Maintain high standards of data integrity and confidentiality

Teamwork & Organizational Development

• Promote a respectful, safety-first workplace culture
• Support team collaboration and continuous improvement
• Contribute to the growth of the Environment Department

About You

To qualify, you will need a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related discipline, along with at least 5 years of relevant experience in natural resource or environmental program delivery, ideally coordinating projects in First Nations or Indigenous governance settings, and demonstrated success working in field conditions and managing multiple concurrent tasks . An equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience may be considered.

The following are required:

• A valid driver’s license, a clean driver’s abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle
• Ability and willingness to travel within the territory which spans from extends north to Churn Creek and to South French Bar; northwest to the headwaters of Bridge River; north and east toward Hat Creek Valley; east to the Big Slide; south to the island on Harrison Lake and west of the Fraser River to the headwaters of Lillooet River, Ryan River and Black Tusk. 
• Ability to undergo a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

• RPF and/or RPB designation or other relevant designation, Project Management Certification and experience with environmental data analysis preferred.
• Wildlife, Fisheries, RISC, or equivalent field certifications is an asset.
• Familiarity with legislation: BC Environmental Assessment Act, Water Sustainability Act, Species at Risk Act, etc.
• Ability to co-lead staff in a matrix reporting environment.
• Strong project coordination, communication, and facilitation abilities. Project Management certification an asset. 
• Technical writing, data analysis, and reporting proficiency
• Experience with GIS, databases, Microsoft Office, and field equipment
